WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02) announced that Florida’s Second District will participate in the third annual Congressional App Challenge (CAC) – a programming competition for students in high school and younger. Students, individually or in teams, are tasked with creating, coding, and implementing a new and innovative computer application.
We are pleased to announce that the Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding, will take place from July 26th to November 1st this year.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) voted in support of the “Thin Blue Line Act,” which will make the murder or attempted murder of a law enforcement officer or first responder an “aggravating factor” in death penalty determinations. The legislation passed the House 271 to 143.

This legislation will create tougher penalties, possibly even the death penalty, for those involved in the killing or attempted killing of a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or other first responder.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02) has joined 140 House members in calling for the end of the defense sequestration policy – the automatic, across-the-board military budget cuts enacted in 2011.
In a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan, the lawmakers wrote that “President Obama’s sequestration policy continues to harm our military and greatly diminishes our ability to defend our global position. Congress must take immediate action to reverse this harmful trend.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) introduced the “10th Amendment Restoration Act of 2017,” legislation to give more power back to the states and reduce the size of the federal government. The bill establishes a Constitutional Government Review Commission to review federal laws, agencies and programs to determine what functions should be returned to the states, per the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
