WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) and Rep. Colleen Hanabusa (HI-01) introduced the “Military Assets Protection Act,” a bipartisan bill to clarify the authority of the military to defend facilities and assets against Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), or drones.

WASHINGTON, DC – Citing new threats from drones both overseas and here at home, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) has urged the House Armed Services Committee to strengthen the military’s legal authority to protect its installations from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). 

Earlier this year, senior leadership at Tyndall Air Force Base raised their concerns with Dr. Dunn that base security required clearer legal authority to interdict drone attacks on assets or personnel.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02) today pressed the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) about 12 environmental surveys it commissioned in areas of the Gulf of Mexico that are off-limits to oil and natural gas leasing. 

In a letter to BOEM Acting Director Dr. Walter Cruickshank, Dunn questions the necessity of these surveys and seeks information on what they discovered. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) joined Dr. Dunn on the letter.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) applauded the passage of H.R. 1430, the Honest and Open New EPA Science Treatment Act of 2017 (HONEST Act), which requires the EPA to base its rulemakings on evidence that is available to the public and scientific community. Dr. Dunn cosponsored the legislation, which passed the House 228 to 194.

Dr. Neal Dunn invites residents of Florida’s 2nd District to attend an in-person town hall meeting to discuss health care reform, and other important issues. This is an opportunity to interact directly with Dr. Dunn to share your concerns and ask questions.

The event will be held on Sunday, March 19th at 2:00 PM CT at the FSU Panama City Campus in the Holley Lecture Hall.

WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) has announced that his district offices are hosting a United States Military Service Academy Day for students in Florida’s Second Congressional District. Informational sessions will be held in both Leon County and Bay County on March 18th. High school and eighth grade students, along with their parents, who are interested in attending a service academy are invited to attend.
