WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02), issued the following statement on this morning’s incident at the Bay County Government Center:

“It is a sad day to witness someone so troubled take such an action and, ultimately, their own life. There is still much unknown about this person’s motivations, and the reason for his attack on this public building. But we should all remember that no matter how inflamed our passions, violence is never the answer.”

This week, the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee rolled U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn’s, R-Fla., proposal on overbooked flights into the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn (FL-02) applauded the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for including a provision addressing overbooked flights in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization this week. 

Inspired by legislation Dr. Dunn previously introduced, the provision makes it an unfair business practice under federal rules to involuntary bump passengers from flights if they have already boarded the plane, are traveling on a confirmed reservation, and checked in for the flight prior to the check-in deadline.

Students, individually or in teams, are tasked with creating, coding, and implementing a new and innovative computer application.
