“Last night the United States took appropriate military action to degrade Syria’s ability to launch further chemical weapons attacks,” Dr. Dunn said. “The world must unite to show Assad that such attacks are intolerable and he will be held accountable. WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) led a bipartisan congressional visit to Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) in Panama City, Florida over the weekend. Along with Rep. David Rouzer (R-NC) and Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA), Dr. Dunn toured the ESG facilities, stressing the importance of the Offshore Patrol Cutter Program. Both Reps. Rouzer and Garamendi serve on the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, which authorizes and oversees the Offshore Patrol Cutters Program.
WASHINGTON, DC – Citing new threats from drones both overseas and here at home, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) has urged the House Armed Services Committee to strengthen the military’s legal authority to protect its installations from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Earlier this year, senior leadership at Tyndall Air Force Base raised their concerns with Dr. Dunn that base security required clearer legal authority to interdict drone attacks on assets or personnel.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02) today pressed the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) about 12 environmental surveys it commissioned in areas of the Gulf of Mexico that are off-limits to oil and natural gas leasing.
In a letter to BOEM Acting Director Dr. Walter Cruickshank, Dunn questions the necessity of these surveys and seeks information on what they discovered. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) joined Dr. Dunn on the letter.
WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) and a bipartisan group of Florida lawmakers are urging the Trump Administration to protect the Joint Gulf Range Complex by maintaining the moratorium on oil and gas offshore drilling activities in the Gulf of Mexico. In a letter to Secretary of Defense James Mattis, the lawmakers call the Joint Gulf Range Complex “an incomparable national asset” and ask for his support for the current moratorium beyond its expiration in 2022.
