I believe a strong, well-funded military is essential to ensuring the safety of all Americans and promoting freedom throughout the world. We must ensure our brave troopers have all resources they need to execute their missions. I am dedicated to working with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that we develop a comprehensive military strategy that can defeat ISIS and Islamic terrorism abroad and at home.

WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) continued his work to defend our military today, urging the House Armed Services Committee to incorporate his legislation, the Military Assets Protection Act, into the annual defense authorization bill. The legislation will clarify the authority of the military to defend facilities and assets against Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), or drones.
WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) made the following statement on the U.S. missile strikes in Syria:
“Last night the United States took appropriate military action to degrade Syria’s ability to launch further chemical weapons attacks,” Dr. Dunn said. “The world must unite to show Assad that such attacks are intolerable and he will be held accountable. I commend the President for taking decisive action, and I am grateful to our men and women in uniform for successfully carrying out such an important mission.”
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) and Rep. Colleen Hanabusa (HI-01) introduced the “Military Assets Protection Act,” a bipartisan bill to clarify the authority of the military to defend facilities and assets against Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), or drones.
WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) released the following statement on the chemical weapons attack in Syria:

WASHINGTON, DC – Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) led a bipartisan congressional visit to Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) in Panama City, Florida over the weekend. Along with Rep. David Rouzer (R-NC) and Rep. WASHINGTON, DC – Citing new threats from drones both overseas and here at home, Dr. Neal Dunn (FL-02) has urged the House Armed Services Committee to strengthen the military’s legal authority to protect its installations from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Earlier this year, senior leadership at Tyndall Air Force Base raised their concerns with Dr. Dunn that base security required clearer legal authority to interdict drone attacks on assets or personnel.
