Neal Dunn: Our National Security Hinges on Disaster Supplemental Funding

Congressman Dunn Responds to SECAF’s Announcement on Air Force Readiness

Mar 27 2019

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn (FL-02) urged Congress to immediately pass disaster supplemental funding in light of Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson’s announcement that critical readiness projects are being suspended:

“Congress must pass a disaster supplemental bill immediately.

“I have worked this issue for months, emphasizing the humanitarian needs in my district and the national security concerns for our nation. Today, Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson gave Congress the worst-case scenario. Without disaster supplemental funding, the Air Force will soon cut repairs to its airplanes across the country because Congress can’t get their act together and pass what everyone knows is necessary. It’s jaw-dropping that our national security is now at risk.

“The Senate has started to move on a disaster bill and I urge Majority Leader McConnell and Speaker Nancy Pelosi to bring this bill to a floor vote immediately. The safety and security of our country depends on it.”
