WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Neal Dunn (Florida-02) wrote a letter to President Biden demanding additional funding for residents of Madison and Jefferson counties impacted by Hurricane Debby. On August 10th, the Administration granted a Major Disaster Declaration (MDD) for the State of Florida, triggering the release of Federal funds to help people and communities recover from the storm.

The MDD granted Individual Assistance (IA) to residents of Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Sarasota, Suwannee, and Taylor Counties. Today, Congressman Dunn requested that the Administration extend the IA Designation to include Madison and Jefferson counties to ensure residents have access to Federal funds for the recovery effort.

“Federal assistance is absolutely essential to ensure every community impacted by Hurricane Debby makes a full recovery,” said Congressman Dunn. “However, the Administration’s relief plan has left many Floridians behind. Today, I am requesting that the Administration extend Individual Assistance to the people of Madison and Jefferson counties in addition to those already designated to ensure everyone has the resources they need to make a full recovery."
