WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (Florida-02) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.Res. 927, a resolution condemns antisemitism on university campuses and the testimony of University Presidents in the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

“The fact that a simple resolution condemning antisemitism on campuses and the testimony of university presidents DIVIDED Democrats today is frightening. Jewish students are experiencing a spike in antisemitism, and it’s inexcusable for any elected official not to stand with them.

The House Democrats who voted against the resolution are citing ‘congressional overreach,’ but they have no problem with congressional overreach when it comes to your children, health care, and Second Amendment rights. Condemning Antisemitism is NOT overreach. It’s the right thing to do!”

Background:

The House of Representatives passed H.Res. 927 with a 303-126-3 vote. Some House Democrats opposed the resolution because they felt it was an overreach for Congress to get involved with hiring in higher education.
