NEW YORK CITY, NY – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02) joined Chairman Mike Gallagher (WI-08) and the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party this morning in front of the unauthorized Chinese Communist Party (CCP) “police station” that was recently raided by the FBI in New York City.

“By opening unauthorized ‘police stations,’ the CCP prove they do not take the Biden Administration seriously. We must protect our citizens and the many asylum seekers who have taken refuge in our nation,” said Congressman Dunn. “I’m proud to stand alongside my colleagues as we work to expose the CCP’s many human rights violations and aggressions.”

Congressman Dunn is also investigating the CCP’s ties to Austal, a foreign-owned shipbuilding company that won a $3.3 billion U.S. Coast Guard offshore patrol cutter contract over Panama City’s Eastern Shipbuilding Group. This is after Eastern Shipbuilding completed the contract for the first four offshore patrol cutters on time and on budget despite Hurricane Michael’s devastation.

“It is alarming that a company that has won multiple defense and homeland security contracts has close ties to the CCP. This is a national security threat and deserves more attention than it is getting,” continued Congressman Dunn.

While serving on the China Select Committee, Congressman Dunn aims to continue this investigation into what information the CCP is gaining from its relationship with Austal.
