Congressman Dunn Paves the Way for Congressional Support of DOGE Efforts

Today, Congressman Neal Dunn (Florida-02) introduced the 10th Amendment Restoration Act, which would establish a Constitutional Government Review Commission to assist President Trump and DOGE in eliminating unlawful powers exercised by federal agencies. The bill would also provide expedited floor proceedings in both chambers of Congress for legislation that would rein in such agencies and programs.

“President Trump and DOGE are doing an outstanding job at keeping their promise to the American people by closing wasteful federal agencies that are doing almost nothing to serve the interests of the American people,” said Congressman Dunn. “Congress must do its part to support the administration. I am proud to pave the way for DOGE’s efforts by providing a clear statutory process to rein in, and when necessary, close federal agencies that go beyond the scope of their power.”

As of April 7th, DOGE estimates it has saved American taxpayers roughly $140 billion by identifying wasteful government programs. Some of the most egregious federal programs uncovered by DOGE include:

  • $10 million for gender equity in the Mexican workplace
  • $12.2 million for worker empowerment in South America
  • $6.25 million for improving respect for workers’ rights in agriculture supply chains in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador
  • $4.3 million to assist foreign migrant workers in Malaysia
  • $3 million for safe and inclusive work environments in the African country of Lesotho

In addition to establishing a Constitutional Government Review Commission, this legislation would also allow that Commission to make recommendations on federal agencies and programs that should have their powers restricted, budget cut, or be repealed entirely.
