WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following the news of Elon Musk’s interest in moving Tesla out of California, Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (Florida-02) sent a letter encouraging Musk to move Tesla to North Florida.

“After everything my district has been through in the past few years, our area could use new jobs and a boost in the local economy,” said Rep. Dunn. “North Florida has a lot to offer – there’s no personal income tax; less regulations of businesses and corporations; real estate near airports, railroad lines, and ports; and it’s a great area for families.”

North Florida, specifically Florida’s Second Congressional District, took a major economical hit following Hurricane Michael in 2018. Upon recovery, their economy was hit again by the COVID-19 outbreak.

As Rep. Dunn notes in his letter: “Elected officials in the Florida Panhandle understand the value that Tesla would bring to our communities and would be proud to support your efforts.”

This is not the first time Congressman Dunn has encouraged large corporations to bring their business to Florida. When Amazon was scouting a new location for their second headquarters, Rep. Dunn sprung into action to offer up Florida’s best resources.
