WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (Florida-02) and Congresswoman Michelle Steel (California-45) recently sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressing deep concern regarding the Chinese Communist Party’s forced organ harvesting of wrongfully detained minorities—including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims, and Christians.
“The first-hand accounts I’ve heard from victims and survivors of the CCP’s inhumane actions are nothing short of horrific,” said Congressman Dunn. “Any Chinese healthcare professionals participating in organ harvesting are committing crimes against humanity. The Department of State must take action to ensure these criminals do not have access to immigration status in the United States.”
“I have met with several survivors of the CCP’s internment camps that torture and enslave minorities, including Uyghurs, and have heard firsthand about the horrors experienced at the hands of the CCP,” said Congresswoman Steel. “We must do whatever we can to prevent the organ harvesting industry. I look forward to hearing from Secretary Blinken about the steps he is taking to prevent these human rights atrocities from continuing.”
Reps. Dunn and Steel, who both sit on the House Select Committee on the CCP, request information in the letter about visa applications from medical practitioners from China and information on what the State Department plans to do to prevent the CCP’s organ harvesting crimes against humanity.
The Select Committee held a hearing in March titled “The Chinese Communist Party's Ongoing Uyghur Genocide" where a Uyghur concentration camp survivor and a concentration camp witness testified of these vicious human rights abuses and atrocities.
