Congressman Dunn Blames Biden Administration’s “Failed Leadership” for Recent Bombings in Afghanistan
Aug 27 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (Florida-02) released a statement following the recent bombings in Afghanistan.
“Yesterday, we lost thirteen members of the U.S. Armed Forces and several civilians in an attack at the Kabul airport. My heart breaks for the families shattered by this act of pure evil,” said Congressman Dunn. “The bombings that occurred in Afghanistan could have been prevented and are a direct result of the Biden Administration’s failed leadership. President Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan is unquestionably inspiring new terrorist attacks, and he has no one to blame but himself. It’s time for President Biden to pull his head out of the sand and take action. Our troops and our allies deserve better than this.”
Congressman Dunn has been very vocal on this issue, even sharing an emotional message on the House floor urging passage of the Allies Act, a bill the House recently passed to help Afghan Allies seek refuge. The Congressman has also been in direct contact with the Pentagon, interpreters and other allies in need of assistance, and fellow Republican colleagues who are collaborating with missionaries to ensure Americans and allies are evacuated safely.
“As a reminder, if you have relatives, colleagues, friends, or loved ones currently in Afghanistan OR if you’re a veteran or service member in contact with an interpreter stuck in the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) process, please reach out to my office,” Congressman Dunn continued. “We will try as best as we can to get them to safety. Contact my office at 850-785-0812 or at www.dunn.house.gov.”
