WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Neal Dunn’s (FL-02) legislation to expand veterans’ job and educational opportunities in the sciences passed the House today. The Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act requires the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop a veterans outreach plan and publish data on veterans’ participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields in its annual “Indicators” report. The bill updates the NSF Noyce Teacher Scholarship program, fellowship program, and cyber grant programs to include outreach to veterans. Additionally, the bill tasks the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy with examining how to increase veteran participation in STEM career fields.

Dunn Gulf Range Amendment Moves in the House

WASHINGTON, DC – In a win for the military and our national defense, the $30 million Congressman Neal Dunn (FL-02) secured to accelerate improvements to the military training range in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico has been attached to must-pass legislation keeping the government open beyond December 22nd. Dr. Dunn introduced, and the House passed, his amendment for the $30 million dollars in July during consideration of the FY18 Department of Defense funding bill. The House is scheduled to send the bill to the Senate next week.

House Passes Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act
